Dmitry Yakovlev

Dmitri Yakovlev received his PhD in Semiconductor Physics from the Ioffe Physical-Technical Institute, St. Petersburg in 1988. In 1990 he got Alexander-von-Humbold Fellowship and started his research on optical properties of CdTe and CdMnTe quantum wells in the Würzburg University, Germany. Since 2002 he is working in the TU Dortmund University, Germany, as professor.

Research interests are focused on optical and magneto-optical properties of low-dimensional semiconductor nanostructures (quantum wells and quantum dots) based in both III-V and II-VI semiconductors. Spin physics and spin-related phenomena of colloidal quantum dots and nanoplatelets based on CdSe are among the current topics.
